On Wednesday the 6th of November the Purbeck Natural History Forum (PNHF) is organising the first Fungi ID field training in collaboration with the Dorset Environmental Record Centre (DERC). This field session is a follow-up event on the initial Fungi ID workshop which is held on the 2nd of November.  This field training will be led by Bryan Edwards, ecologist of the DERC.

During this event, we will visit one or more locations in the Purbeck area where we will find and identify fungi (with a primary focus on Waxcaps). The idea is that we put into practise the identification skills we have learned during the workshop. In addition we hope to survey one or more areas for waxcaps and other interesting fungi.

The exact locations for this event will still be announced, but all locations will be in the Purbeck area.

If you are interested to increase your local Fungi ID skills, and go out recording for this wonderful group of species, please register for this field training session below. Note that there are only a limited number of spaces available for this event.

If you have any questions about this workshop, please contact Jasper Iepema: jasper.iepema@naturalengland.org.uk.
