This survey is the part of a series of surveys that will take place this year within the Purbeck Heaths NNR Grazing Unit (Arne, Hartland, Slepe and Stoborough). The surveys form part of the Purbeck Heaths Grazing Unit Monitoring Plan and the primary focus is to collect data to help us to assess changes in species diversity and distribution over time.

This survey will be a transect survey for Southern Damselfly and then potentially a bare ground invertebrate search around Great Knoll.  It is ideal for both experienced Odonata/pond enthusiasts and those who are relatively new to wildlife recording and identification.

If you hope to join this survey, please make sure to sign up for this survey below, and:

  • Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the day, including sun protection
  • Take your binoculars and Odonata ID books/ sheets
  • Take your own lunch , snacks and plenty of water for the day

Parking and meeting place locations for these surveys will vary. Please check for updates on the exact meet up location before each survey,  and use the What3Words location provided.

For any questions about this survey, please contact Michelle: Michelle.Brown1@nationaltrust.org.uk

We look forward to seeing you!
